Yep, been there, done that! Let's start at the beginning, I work at the front desk of a newspaper. About 4 years ago, we had a guy work with us and he was a pretty good kid. Well, his dad just happened to be one of my daughters teachers and their bus driver. Just about once a week he (the dad) would come in and bring the kid lunch. I didn't know it, but the guy had the hots for me!! So, once the son decided to go overseas, I didn't see the dad for awhile. Then we needed someone to work parttime in the office and the dad put in a good word for his brother. He got hired and then the guy would come around and put ads and things in the paper.
Again, this guy has the hots for me!!! I didn't think anything about him coming into the office because I wasn't really interested at the time. Then one day out of nowhere, he asks me if he could call me. Well, I didn't actually give him my number but told him that it was in the phone book. He proceeded to call me the next week. We started talking and he disclosed that he was still married but was getting a divorce soon. I said ok and whatever. I didn't want to date someone that was still married, if you know what I mean. The next week he came in and I blew him off.
I didn't think he really wanted to date me anyways. I was too down on myself at the time and had put up some serious walls from previous relationship. About 3 weeks later, I just happen to run into him on the street and he asked again if he could call me on the phone and told me that he officially was no longer married. I wanted to make sure he was telling the truth and checked it out in the newspaper and yep he was truthful. So, I told him when he called that I would like to go out with him.
We then dated for about 6 months until he had heard from the son that had went overseas. He clammed up and started to talk about not seeing each other anymore. By that time I was in love with him and didn't want to let him go. So, we sat one day and talked it out. He said he was worried about his parents as they were old and he wanted to take care of them. I didn't think that was wrong and thought it was very noble of a son wanting to take care of his parents. He said that he was tired of going out and really didn't want to get married again. So, I let it go and after about a week he called and wanted to start going out again. I said ok and let things go not thinking about it.
We saw each other for awhile after that actually going out and all that. Then he talked to me about going to be with his sons at college and trying to get a job out there to save some money. Something he was really big about and harped on alot. In between this time I ended up being really sick and in the hospital for awhile. I did nothing but encourage him to take care of himself and his family and he was including me at that time.
Once I got out of the hospital and back up on my feet, we began to see each other again. We went to a few home games where he moved to and the first one was kinda cool, the second my oldest daughter went with me and the the last one he just kinda blew me off and told me he didn't want to do anything with his boys around. This was something he did each of the times we were there for the games. He did want to do something the first two games and we did granted we had to be sneaky about it because of his boys and my oldest being in the house. The being sneaky was kinda fun at the time.
We then, went back and forth for about 6 months with him and myself going at it for awhile. (He didn't want to see me, but wanted to see me type of stuff.) I sent him some really nasty emails, tearing him down and telling him how I really felt. He ended up telling me to leave him alone! Then one day he called me around the end of March and told me that he lost his mom. He felt really guilty because he wasn't there to take care of her and he thought he should have. We went back to seeing each other for awhile with him coming to my house and not dating because he was tired of driving back and forth between here and the school.
Then about May of the same year, he calls just to talk for awhile, and then ends the conversation with he was seeing someone else, and he needed to go back to his BBQ!!!! Shock to me, I kinda figured though with the way he had been treating me at the time. You really don't want to know how bad I reacted!!!
Once school was over for the year, he moved back to his dad's house and contacted me about the middle of June. Boom, you want to see me again!!!! Ok, I thought maybe he really wanted to see me, but he never really wanted to go out just to come to my house and you know what! I began to get upset and wanted to go out some and even mentioned it a few times. He just blew it off. Then around Christmas, he comes back and says I am seeing someone and I can't see you anymore. Again with this seeing someone!!!! I thought it was a rouse to get me mad and do the nasty emails and texts again. Well, about 2 weeks later I texted him and we ended up together at my house again. He said he wanted it to be our little secret. At the time, I thought he really must not be seeing someone else because he was coming over every weekend for a few months. I began to get suspicious about my feelings and felt that he was just using me. We started going to certain places around were we live and I began to think hey maybe he will come back to me. Boy was I wrong!!! About 5 months ago, we made plans to go to one of the baseball regionals which he then bowed out gracefully. I didn't really hear from him for 3 weeks and I emailed him some silly emails trying to get him to talk to me.
Then one day I took a chance and sent him one of those emails that you would turn red if you open especially if someone was looking over your shoulder and I got an I don't want to do this anymore. Ok whatever, I said and left him alone. Thought about it and texted him badly, something Mimi says never to do and I felt like a stupid person for doing it!!
Around the first week in July, I sent my final email and gave up on trying anymore. Told myself if he wanted to get in touch with me he has all of my information. Thanks Mimi I needed that.
About the first week of August, I was at work and got a text message from him I thought wow this really works.
He just wanted to be friends. I think I could've been fine with that. But the text I was receiving were silly, stuff you could have gotten off of the Internet or calling in to the local newspaper were I work. My mind said it was an attempt to get back with me. I thought maybe so, but I will have to see how this turned out. And wow for a couple of weeks, I got various texts from him asking how I was doing, etc.
Then a few weeks ago, one of my friends tells me that he announced it at one of the places that he frequents, he was getting married. Married!!!!
What happened to not ever getting married again. I was very angry because if we were going to be friends he should have told me instead of my friend. We had it out over texts, and I haven't heard from him in over 4 weeks. Good riddence!!!!!
